Come On, Buddy

Two weeks ago, Evie had her 18 month check-up. What did we find out? We have a healthy girl - a very healthy, very chatty, very independent little girl. Evie has definitely been showing us her unique personality lately. Phrases like "oh my word" and "come on, buddy" now make up her vocabulary. Our dog, Christmas, is her new "buddy." Trying to get the dog's attention, she walks through the house patting her leg saying, "Come on, buddy." Usually he ignores her or hides. She's also discovered her love of climbing. If I would let her, Evie would climb anything and everything. From the couch to the kitchen chair and table. Yes, I've actually caught her on top of our kitchen table with the orneriest grin on her face.

Evie is also adjusting very well to her new baby brother. She's become very fascinated with his poopy diapers lately. Whenever it's time to change Emmitt, Evie always wants to watch. Occassionally, I get the odd request to "touch it" referring to the "poopoo." I never thought I would have to explain to someone that we don't touch "poopoo." Not Emmitt's, not the dog's, not even our own. But I have, and on several different occassions. Evie always keeps you on your toes.
